Hello pretty people,
Guess what? It’s been a whirlwind of a year that I want to share with you. It feels like just yesterday when I swapped my graduation cap for a designer’s hat, stepping into the buzzing world of IT right here in Pune. If I were to rewind time to my days as a Computer Science Engineer in Chennai, the path that led me here was a blend of curiosity, courage, and a pinch of creative audacity.
You see, my original plan was to dive into post-grad design studies and get a broader prospect of the industry in an entirely different country but life had its own script. I was on the cusp of persuing Masters in Interaction Design but, as fate would have it, the script flipped and took me on an unanticipated tangent.
Believe it or not, just about a year back, in August 2022, I found myself making a cozy nest in Pune. The plan? A brief stay, like a pitspot till my convocation, or so I thought. Little did I know that this city would become my muse like no other. Armed with a degree that spoke more about algorithms and code syntax, I dared to wander into a landscape where pixels, emotions, and user stories converged. It was a leap that ignited my spirit creating a dynamic synergy I never knew existed.
But wait, there’s more. Fast forward three months, and there I was — a self-declared ‘sabbatical scholar.’ Learning, relearning, and upskilling became my companions. I devoured design wisdom and dived into the depths of coding, all from the cozy corner of my flat just like an artist absorbing colors onto a palette.
April arrived, bringing with it the essence of new beginnings. I joined a tech startup. Online connections transformed to meeting in-person, brainstorming huddles, and cups of coffee brimming with inspiration. Moving a couple of seasons, and the evolution is nothing short of a tale told through pixels. With every project, I’ve witnessed a subtle transformation taking root. With every new project, I’d peek back at the older ones and think, “Aha, that could’ve been a tad more awesome!” It wasn’t about nitpicking or criticism; it is about chasing perfection, about nurturing every creation to be its best self.
But perhaps the most profound change isn’t just in the pixels, the wireframes, or even the interface iterations. It’s in the way I perceive the world around me. Every mundane interaction, from swiping a card to navigating through a bustling street, now paints a mental UX storyboard. It’s as if I’ve donned a new pair of glasses — ones that let me peek behind the curtains of everyday experiences.
As I reflect upon this year, I realize that the creative strings of my mind are now intertwined with the threads of user emotions. You see, making designs look good is cool, but making them seamless and user-friendly? That’s the real deal.
So, here’s to a year of growth, challenges, and delightful discoveries. Here’s to diving headfirst into the enigma of UX. As I take a sip of my coffee and look out at the skyline, I’m excited for the chapters yet to be written, the interfaces yet to be designed, and the narratives yet to unfold.
With a heart full of pixels
